2024 - ALEX LA VILLA

The horizontal format works are inspired by the format of traditional Chinese and Japanese landscape scroll paintings. As those paintings sought to capture the essence spirit of nature by using the tonal quality of ink to define light and space, these works similarly attempt to express a dynamic energetic field using color and light that is filled with both stillness and movement.
